Hi all,
I just wanted to check something as I can't find the info online.
I have disputed a transaction I made using my Visa debit card, it was for digital content, a game. I didn't receive the game so I opened a dispute with my bank and they went ahead and gave me a temporary refund based on 'goods not received'. After speaking with the vendor I was told the game is coming but I had to wait a little longer. So I called my bank and said I would like to cancel the dispute/chargeback but they informed me if I do that then I will not be able to dispute it again in the future if I don't end up receiving the game, is this true?
TIA

You appear to be asking about cancelling and re-instating a chargeback on a single transaction rather than retailer.

I think the bank is right - you seem to have given up your right to chargeback this particular game - why did you not get your money back UNTIL the game was widely available - then order it again?0

Yes you can only dispute a item once.
Add in with Vis the bank can not stop it.
Let it run. If the goods turn up before the 45 days are up, then retailer can reject on the grounds goods have been received.
But do not do anything till you have them...Life in the slow lane0 -
Keep the dispute open until you actually receive the game - if you never do then you fall back on the chargeback, but if you do then you can cancel it. Don't throw away your protection just because the seller has said "the item is on it's way"... no way to know if it actually is2
