Hi everyone
Little one arrived about 9 this morning...full of smiles and chatter. We've been down to mam and dads - she was entertained outside by great gran while I typed dad's email to eldest DD in Sweden. I'm pleased they have decided to start going back to the cafe at M and S for their morning coffee next week - mam has been worried about taking dad but has now decided that they will in case they end up having to stay at home during the winter. They go at about half past 9 so it should be quiet. it seems a small thing but it is the only place dad really goes as it's only about 10 minutes on his electric wheelchair and he feels comfortable there as the staff are all aware of his dementia. mam also has her cleaner starting again tomorrow.
And my elder brother went in their house yesterday and had a cup of tea!
Well I'm going to make a move and do a couple of jobs - hope everyone has a good day7 -
Hello all, thank you for starting the thread Gers.
I was here very early but did not have anything interesting to say, well I mostly don't, so I went away.
I'm going up the hill to the corner shop in a bit, OH went earlier but the Sunday papers had failed to arrive, just the Culture, Style and Magazine bits. I was poised to go half an hour ago but apparently if they arrive at all It will be after 1.00. And then it started raining again. So I was glad to be under cover. It did stop but now it is at it again.
Yesterday I managed to get the bathroom back to normal, the chaps did a decent job with a new shower screen but they were a bit messy with the sealant, the smears came off with white vinegar though.
Hester it is good to see posts from you, a treat!
Dumpling that must be a real worry. Someone else has suggested making a fresh account for the debt free board. It might be a big help, worth a look perhaps. And we'll done to Lee, a weight off his mind I imagine.
As I have been typing this, the rain has redoubled its efforts and now it is lashing it down. So my other plan of removing the fallen leaves probably won't happen either. I know we were all complaining of dried out gardens a few weeks ago but constant downpours is not quite what I hoped for.
Nelski, I was actually quite cold in bed but I woke myself up from a nightmare in which my old sweet dog had to be pts and I had chosen to be pts to be with her. All very odd. Nothing in it about my other dog and they were always together. This did not happen with either dog, they died of old age. I do miss them.
I hope everyone has a decent afternoon, and that if you want to be out, it is not raining where you are.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back12 -
DUMPLING I agree with others, you reallyshould share this with Steve as well or you will just end up worrying yourself silly trying to sort it out alone. I think a lot of us are guilty of over spending through the pandemic, It's been too easy, whilst isolating at home, to just click a button and that's something else bought. And we have been paying over the odds for stuff rather than shopping around.. It all mounts up. I hope you manage to sort the debt out and can stop worrying about it.
Well the promised rain at lunchtime has yet to arrive - not that I am complaining mind! And the wind looks to have dropped again. The sun has even made an appearance but I don't know how it managed to get through all the cloud!
I am time wasting here - I was supposed to be getting more boxes out of the back wardrobe to delve through. The mode of sloth has overtaken me again. x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
My morning was thwarted by heavy rain 😒 and places being closed when they advertised as being open! I had a lovely (wet) drive down to a place called Bowling where the end of the Forth & Clyde canal is. The wee gift shop I had wanted to visit was closed. The other place I had decided to go to was also closed - so I ended up at a local bakery where two wee fancies jumped into my hand.
Small consolation for a rainy morning. Bought DM a strange 'sausage' roll of mushroom and sauerkraut.
DUMPLING - another vote for using DFW, even under a different account name if it makes you feel more comfortable. Help is at hand there.I'm off to have a grump elsewhere now.10
