Vax Platinum Power Max Carpet Cleaner: not dispensing solution/water properly

I have the Vax Platinum Power Max Carpet Cleaner, it is new (replacement for earlier model from Vax) but it doesn’t seem to work properly. It doesn’t seem to be dispensing solution and water correctly, the floor is hardly wet, bit damp, here and there, and I can see that the nozzle is only dispensing solution erratically, bit here, bit there, there is very little water in the disposal tank, yet the solution tank is nearly empty!
I have cleaned the nozzle, took circular bar out, no blockages,
really annoying and confusing, its was firs time used, VAX replace very easily, but wish they would send an engineer out.
