Bush tablet Firmware

I have a Bush Spira 1 tablet, which stopped working, a while ago. It would boot up, and a message saying 'optimizing apps', would appear, and then it would boot again, and repeat. Even after factory reset. Anyway, I wondered if updating the firmware, would get it working again. I searched for the firmware, and downloaded it, along with, a flash tool. Everything went well, and I got the tablet up and running again. The problem I have now is, I can't install apps from the google play store. Every time, I go into google play store, the wifi connection, goes on and off, until I close the app store, then the tablets fine again. I downloaded what I assumed to be the latest firmware, but could this be the issue? When installing it, it said it was for Maltek devices. Hope someone can help me get the tablet running again. Hate it to go into landfill.
Edit: MediaTek, not Maltek.

Quite likely you've flashed it with some incompatible firmware. It'll be some generic Chinese product in new packaging with in this case the Bush name on it. There is no such thing as a standard Android tablet from a hardware point of view and if you load the wrong firmware on it, behaviours like this will happen, because it still uses drivers much the same way as WIndows does. Its whether you can find the original firmware it came with from somewhere and flash it from that to restore it to proper behaviour. This might be worth a read if you can find the files you need:

Well, to be honest, I have 2 of these tablets, as one stopped displaying anything on the screen, although it does power up. Is there anyway, I could get the firmware off that?
EDIT: Although it boots up, it can't be recognized by my pc.0 -

EDIT: Although it boots up, it can't be recognized by my pc.You may need to enable Usb debugging on older versions of Android to get the PC to see it.This might be of interest:0 -
That's the problem though, I can't use the tablet, to enable USB debugging. I think I'll have to trawl through all the links for Mediatek firmware, until I get the right one, but thanks for your assistance Neil.0
