Problem with ATM Cashpoint

Comments

  • If today was a working/business day the ATM would have reversed the transaction by now.
It may be that by the close of business on Monday that RBS  will do this.

If not then the ATM 'thinks' it has paid out the money (the ATM when balanced will be over) you need to contact them again to start officially the process of disputing this transaction.
I thought I would of got my money back into my bank account today as my local RBS is open on a Saturday until early afternoon but there is still no sign of my money been put back into my account. When I phoned my bank yesterday they told me that the ATM will clear itself overnight and I should get the money back into my account. However, the lady at my local RBS bank told me it will take 48 hours for the matter to resolve.

I already have this matter filed as a dispute with my bank and I will wait until Monday afternoon and if there is still no money put back into my account I will have to contact them again.
With my bank any Saturday/Sunday ATM withdrawals are done in realtime but when statemented it is always dated on the Monday or the next business day.

You ring your own bank and they will deal with it for you.
Can take up to 28 days for your bank to sort (link timescales) if the atm does not update to show money not taken, but usually shows straight away.

    Thanks for the advise.

When I confronted the receptionist at my local RBS a few days ago after I had the problem with the ATM she told me to give it 48 hours for the ATM to clear itself and I should get my money back into my account. Unfortunately, it’s over 48 hours now since I used the ATM and there is still no money back in my account. I don’t know if the receptionist included Sunday when she said 48 hours.

Like others have said on here I will give it until Monday or Tuesday (the latest) and if there is still no money back in my account then I will have to contact RBS again even though it has been filed as a dispute.

If RBS is not your bank, then do not waste your time. There is nothing the in branch staff can do even if they are your bank.
