Focus 2013 Key Fob

Key fob needs replacing however my partner went into Halfords and was advised you shouldn’t do this yourself as it can cause key to malfunction?

Is this a ploy just to ‘get a sale’? Is ok to simply buy a battery and change them over myself?

Thanks,

Dave

Ford keys are a straightforward battery out and battery in, nothing complicated.

Battery out battery in,  no issues.  If the battery is already dead the risk has already been taken.

Takes 10 seconds to  fix if the battery has been dead a while,  all in the handbook.
