Stuck on a interview question
Comments

If someone wrote about driving lessons in response to an interview question I presented them it wouldn't go down well.iron753 said:I am stuck on another online interview question saying "Do you have any commitments which would prevent you from working any of the 7 days?"
I currently need to start my driving lessons which will be once a week.
I'd expect childcare to be a valid reason for example. However driving lessons can be booked anyday of the week around shifts.
Any employer will be looking for someone who is committed and honest. However they will also want to see common sense and initiative applied.0 -

You could of course schedule your driving lessons according to the rota you are given.iron753 said:

Why are you applying for the job? Perhaps you would prefer a long term job rather than the changing agency placings.iron753 said:I am stuck on another online interview question saying "What opportunities do you see for yourself at Ocado?"
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Being committed and honest wasnt in dispute but said however initiative and common sense also. Driving lessons wouldnt be a commitment the OP has to prevent working any day of the week unlike childcare arrangements or being part of a team /hobby and having set training/events for example which are more likely to prevent certain working hrs or days.Jsacker said:
It would go down perfectly fine with me. In fact, such a response would strongly indicate an "honest" person. Can't quite comment on whether they'd be "committed", but with their experience they aren't doing too bad in that respect either.HampshireH said:

They are flexible and can be booked around work.
OP do you have any support in gaining employment/changing job? I only ask as you seem to have asked the forum about how to answer most questions.
Places like the job centre, princes trust (depending on age), housing associations (often very helpful if your a tenant or not sometimes) can offer guidance and support tailored to applicants and help you really sell your strengths when applying for work. These agencies do some fantastic work and can understand more about you and bring that to your applications

Given the number of basic questions OP seems to be stuck on, either they are trolling or they need to get some help from a family member who can do a bit of hand holding - probably the latter.3

Maybe there are no family members who can help. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

We all have things we need to schedule to do in our lives but unless you have signed a contract with the driving school saying every lesson will be 1pm on Thursdays then this is movable and the "no" answer will be looked on much more favourably than someone who lists days they cannot work, especially for something that people will think can be easily rescheduled.iron753 said:I am stuck on another online interview question saying "Do you have any commitments which would prevent you from working any of the 7 days?"

You can certainly go for the suggestion of wanting perm work rather than temp but that doesnt answer the question of why Ocado rather than Tesco or Homebase. I would certainly consider adding in a second point on why Ocado itself appeals rather than some other possible employer... many companies have a careers section on their website and that often has a "why work for us" bit, if Ocado have this then possibly pick something off there that isnt "competitive pay" or staff discountiron753 said:I am stuck on another online interview question saying "What opportunities do you see for yourself at Ocado?"1
