Who is STILL furloughed.

Options
Afternoon all,

Posting out of curiosity really to find out who's on furlough still and how your company is approaching furlough? Regular communication? Whispers of Redundancy?
I'm still on furlough and I've heard nothing from my company.. Not a sausage. I'm in contact with a colleague and it appears I'm the only one on furlough in the office. I was just curious of other people's situations.
Thanks

There's many others, but it's a very industry specific topic.

latest figures are that 20% of those furloughed are still on it.   Those left are either gaming the system or likely to be having problems.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. • I work in facilities management, in projects installing electric cars charge points I do the admin, given it might be a slow progression back but I did think quite possibly I did think my company would at least be in touch with some outlook? I was just wondering if others have had zero contact with their employee?

How can 20% be on it and 80% not?

Know of a number of people both directly and indirectly. Many organisations and companies are far from operating at 100%.

Surely there should be two figures.  One saying how many people are still on furlough full time and others saying how many people are working at least some hours, which could be 4.5 days a week instead of 5 in some cases.

So using Atlantic Bowl in Altrincham, Greater Manchester as an example.  Unlike other parts of the country bowling alleys are not allowed to reopen so it's closed and possibly they have staff on furlough.  Can you really say they are likely to have problems or that they are gaming the system?  It might be next week they get the green light to reopen but then they might not.

Nightclubs also arent allowed to reopen, one assumes all their staff are on it also.

I'd imagine most staff aren't full-time employed, like students etc.
  • I'm just concerned, companies are using furlough as free money effectively adding the money to their budget forecasts. I know of someone who has been told not back until November but the company has made redundancies with higher earners. I was just curious to see if this is most companies strategy?
