Thank you I'd forgotten about that site. Just typed a post and lost it when pc restarted grrrr!I'd love to live there it's magical I love gardens countryside, trees. I'd love to wander around there for just a day I realise how much work went into it but if you are fit and healthy it would be a joy.
Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

Thanks from me too VJs. I read Collettes blog for many years. I was first attracted by the fact she was in the west of Ireland where all 4of my grandparents came from. She's also an environentalist like myself. It's amazing what she achieved with both the cottage and the land. I think the blog may appeal to Mar as she too has links to the west of Ireland. It's mystical and calming to read her journey and there's a cat.Rhonda Hetzel was another I read each day. I've both big hardbacks and her paperbacks. Along with cooking, gardening sewing etc she also knits. There used to be an OS blog list but thanks Mar for this thread. Apart from Elaine Colliars MFin3 blog which comes and goes although luckily is now in my bokmarks . Hard drive from the HP laptop which failed is in this one now as it was fairly new and it was possible to keep all the bokmarks although this is not HP.Well all but Elaines blog fell by the wayside over the past busy years. I think this thread is really useful. We're nearly in September and dd is still a few mies away , indoors since 13th March except for a few very social distanced chats in the large garden there. We did do a slow amble around the block the weekend before last . Just two couples on the other side of the road and noone else. It's the first time she's left the driveway but wanted a bit of normality. Her boyfriend is still working from home and there are two cats there so not as quiet as here.Having felt quite black doggish at the change in normal life as many are the idea of catching up on the blogs may be just what I need.Take care all.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.2 -
I've learnt to take the "old style/frugal" blogs with a huge grain of salt. For a while it was like poverty !!!!!!, who could stretch the penny the furthest without telling the full story.
One frugal blogger doesn't mention that an inheritance paved the way for their drastically changed life but puts it all down to hard work and frugality.
