Morning all, well the wind is still here today but thankfully no rain, yet.Yesterday all the washing dried on the whirly and in the afternoon we went to DD's to drop off a birthday card and pressie for SiL ( it's today) and as he was just leaving with DGS for a bike ride, we stayed with DD and DGD. We had coffee and a good old chin wag but unfortunately she had no gossip to impart
She is looking forward to teaching the littlies come September and showed me pics of her tittivated classroom.
Our meds should have arrived today, well mine have but Mr Fix It's is missing, last time it was mine, so much ringing between pharmacy and surgery has ensued and as usual they are blaming each other. We are now waiting for a call from the surgery to see where it is, but I'm not holding my breath and we'll probably have to ring again.Today I aim to flick the duster around upstairs and follow that with a bit of hoovering, then there are a few items in the ironing basket staring at me every time I walk past it. I may leave those as it contains some summer tops and shorts and I can't see those being needed anytime soon as autumn feels like it's already arrived.Tea will be bacon, egg etc because I was looking for something yesterday in the freezer and by mistake the bacon was left out. I think the naughty elf has been rampaging in the chest freezer again so I need to sort it out too.Sorry to read that several others have been/ are poorly so I shall send healing vibes to you.TA congrats to your DGD, it must have been a stressful time for her not knowing what would happen.NRA I hope DMIL is ok now.Scarlett those UTI's are awful even the mild ones and I hope yours has abated. I have to get up several times a night normally, so just once would be a novelty.Poppy you made me smile picturing you surrounded by boxes of apricots. I love apricots but I would struggle handling that many. Hope your family get well soon.Camelot I hope your DGS testes negative and gets better asap. Such a shame that you may miss have to the birthday celebrations.Righty ho! I suppose I'd better go and make a start.Take care allnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13 -
Morning all.
Sorry, late today. I had an early phone call from Gangsta Granny next door. Poor love, the lock on her front door has jammed and she couldn't sleep last night for fear of someone breaking in. Really, she could have slept with all her doors and windows wide open and a notice inviting would-be burglars to come in and help themselves, and still been safe. It's that sort of place. However, I spent the first half of the morning tracking down a locksmith who would come and sort her out today. Done that now, and she is reassured.
Anyway, I have read through the thread so far and forgotten all of it. Thank heavens for Nanny's post and the useful cribs in it.
Nanny, glad you had a good visit with dd and dgd, sorry about the lack of gossip. It does make life more interesting, doesn't it?
TA, good news for your dgd, its good to know that she is settled for the next couple of years. Don't worry about the Friday Tidy. I look round my house in despair. The Friday Flame Thrower might be usefully employed.
Ouch Scarlet. UTIs are horrible and leave you feeling all weak and unnecessary. Take it easy today.
Poppy, there must be a limit to what you can do with apricots. Have you reached it yet?
Camelot, hope all goes well and I know it is no consolation, but there will be other birthdays.
Now I must really go and sort a few more boxes, though where I am going to sort them into remains a mystery.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I want to be 14 again and ruin my life differently. I have new ideas.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Afternoon all well the consultant has spoken to mum apparently a letter was sent but we will probably receive it later today . The upshot is that mum has decided not to proceed any further and will be put onto palliative care . To say I am devastated doesn't even come close I know this is the right decision for her as a family we have talked and talked about all options and she has finally made peace with herself and her decision xxSlava Ukraini11

Morning all! [ Just!] Didn't sleep last night so when I went off this morning I didn't wake up until 11...What a lazy so and so..Same thing happened yesterday so I'l have to nip it in the bud before I turn into a vampire. It's blowing a gale today [ same everywhere I think?] and so far nothing has come crashing down in the garden, including sadly, the tree. It's still there being whipped about but refusing to fall...My sister had her hair cut yesterday, she sent me pics of the back and front
it looks lovely, much nicer than it does when she has a weird colour put on it, she's white now, pretty much like me. She's rocking the look.
Went round a friends for socially distant visiting in the garden [ not sure of the new rules now, i think we can go inside but honestly, I prefer it outside]. She's just had a new patio installed, a professional job and it really looks it. If I had spare cash, I would employ them instead of us doing it. Her garden is lovely too, it feels really intimate and cosy but it it is deceptively large. he has all these twinkly little solar lights and little cubby areas to sit in, and it's elegant/cottage if that can be a thing.Today I have no plas except I might stir myself and go pick blackberries. I doubt they will have been blown off and if I don't use the apples I collected soon they'll be in the compost bin.And as much as I like the sitting on the throne sofa [ L shaped thing] I might have to bite the bullet and look for something else. After sitting in a proper chair last night I didn't seem to have as much pain so it might be that sitting upright instead of lounging stretches the ligaments or something so they aren't as tight and hurty. I'll gove sitting properly a go and see what happens. I've never liked low sofas or chairs anyway...TA, congrats to your dgd! Topsy, hope you manage to find something and get yourself sorted asap. Gers, funny how something as little as a dish drainer can bring so much joyNanny, good to see you again, hope your meds get sorted soon. Monna, liking your thought, except |I'd go straight for 18, too many raging hormones at 14....Poppy, ooo, apricot preserve! it's my favourite jam! Scarlet, here's to only getting up once a night! Ruby, happy new hair day! Hey all reading along, hope you're doing above five on a scale of one to ten of good things, flyaway Friday!
Just saw your post bella, big hugs for all of you...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10 -
Hi all,I realised I haven't posted for a while, all ok but I have been distracted by an online newspaper I suscribed to over lockdown.Normally only get one at weekendBellabella, lots of hugs ,it must be so hard for you.More hugs to anyone feeling down or poorly.DNiece was another getting exam results yesterday. She is a bright girl and conscientious but she has still been panicking. No need ,her results were great so she's going to a college to do A levels .I've spent the morning shampooing carpets and now having a breather! I didnt do much yesterday and felt a bit down, I am hoping the local lockdown gets lifted too TA,not many cases near us either. I'm missing seeing my friends in person, and haven't seen my cousins since lockdown either. Then I tell myself off because at least I've got DH & DSons here, even though their mess drives me daftNot sure what to make for tea- there is stuff in the fridge but I've earmarked that for Sat/Sun.I'm definitely seeing space in the small freezer though. Might be corned beef hash, I have a lot of spudsAnyway keep safe and well.Camelot, the boy next door had a temp last week and had to get a test, came back negative, just a bad cold.Hope it's the same for your DGS xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Bella - 💕The heavens opened the second I put my feet outside! Luckily I had my raincoat in the car so quickly changed. My trip to the tip and the CS was successful so at least there's more room in my car now.9

Hi everyone
Getting very blustery here though it's still sunny. Little one stayed last night as DD was starting work early - I woke to the sound of her and youngest cat miaowing at each other through her closed bedroom door! I took her down to my mam and dads this morning and she had a lovely play with great gran with all the pans out of her cupboard. She's fast asleep just now - I'll probably get another half an hour before chaos resumes! Hope everyone has a good day9 -
Oh BELLA can this year get much worse for you. Thinking of you, your family and of course your DM at this horrible time.
The sun is shining here! But it's only just emerged as we did have heavy rain at one point and the wind has been doing it's best. The only casualty has been the bird bath but, as that can go over if you just look at it, that was no surprise. I shall leave it over until the wind drops.
Still awaiting an update on the lockdown but I am fully expecting it to remain in place for us. It's been a long 3 weeks already. I had my hair cut as soon as mobile stylists could visit but that was over 2 months ago and it's now drastically in need of another trim. The daft thing is I could visit a salon in town but can't have one do it at home!
I hope everyone is safely battoned down and not suffering any wind damage. Take care x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Bella I'm so sorry to read your news. Gentle hugs to you and your Mum. xx

Evening all,
Many thanks for all the good wishes yesterday and today........unfortunately, while my angiogram was fine, my orthopaedic surgeon felt that the time available was too tight for safety during my hip operation and consequently postponed the procedure for re scheduling.......I was too gobsmacked to query the length of time this might be,, nor did he offer any opinion on the subject. So I am home for whatever length of time the re scheduling will take, very unhappy. but aware that I am a lot better off than many posters, to whom I send my very best wishes.
Stay safe everybody,
Marie
