Motorcycle hire excess insurance

I'm going to be hiring a motorcycle in the UK for three days and the insurance excess is £500.
I've looked online for motorcycle hire excess insurance (same type of policy for car hire) but cannot find such a policy.
Carole Nash do a policy but it seems to be for an insurance policy holder

Does anyone know if such a policy exists?

Have you asked the hire company if you can pay for an excess waiver as you can for car insurance?

XS waiver is often notably more expensive than XS insurance (though less hassle if it comes to a claim) - the one I used to buy was £40/year for up to £7,500 of xs claims per year covering unlimited rentals up to 62 days in duration per rental anywhere in europe... unfortunately they don't cover motorbikes so not a help to the OP.
Excess Waiver can be £10/day so even for a short hire can be a cost saving.
Worth noting that some insurance companies/hire companies together make a claim on the insurance difficult as proof of value of repairs and loss of earnings can be required to show the cost was more than the excess but not all hire companies are forecoming with providing the paperwork.0
