Teletext holiday

We Booked a package holiday with teletext before Spain was put on the no go list. And are due to fly to Barcelona Next week. I have been calling and emailing teletext since the beginning of August I have been ignored and told someone will call you back no one does. Eventually I got an email saying they can give me a credit note - I emailed back to ask questions about the note (if it included flights etc how much would it be for etc) before I agree to anything. I was ignored. Phone calls ignored emails ignored. Couldn’t rearrange flights with Ryanair because tt arranges the holiday. So if had enough and raised a dispute and a chargeback. 
I’m worried that tt will challenge the dispute and I will loose my money. Surely I am covered by package holidays regulations? I feel like I have been robbed. Our hotel is closed as well I emailed them personally due to COVID-19 we were due to stay in Catalonia worst infected place. I’m worried i will loose my money. Teletext have now said you have done a charge back we don’t have any of your money if you want to rearrange your holiday you need to pay us the money in full and then we will TRY to rearrange your holiday. I really do not want to take the risk of paying them the money In case it all goes belly up again or they won’t rebook/ charge more/ refuse refunds etc same game again. Any advice please?

  • What advice can you get?  You have already applied for a chargeback so you will have to wait to see the outcome of that before you try anything else.    As TT are aware you have done a chargeback, hopefully this means the money is in the process of being refunded?    I don't know if there is any way of checking on the progress of a chargeback?   Presumably banks are as inundated as everyone else.    
  • Teletext have now put on my “my bookings page” that I haven’t paid a penny for my holiday that they have booked. Even though I paid in full at the time of booking. The bank have said the merchant haven’t paid the money back and the dispute is still on going. This is such a mess.
    teletext are telling me to pay the £600 for the holiday booked then they will try to rearrange my holiday for next year. I’m scared to pay the money to them from the temporary chargeback refund in case I have the same problem someone help with advice please
  • I think Tedber has said all that can be said. You decided to make a chargeback. You did that and it is being processed. You will need to await the outcome of the chargeback.
  • Yes, you made a chargeback and thus the funds are removed from Teletext while it's under review - so you haven't paid a penny.
