Evidencing Premium Bonds.

We've spent the past six weeks in communication with NS&i
attempting to obtain our bond statements . So far we've received
numerous bond records (which we can obtain online anyway), and a poorly
printed out 'partial' statement with no account, name or address
details. Although a complaint with NS&i is ongoing, it may take a
while to obtain what's required.
I'm assuming a bond record showing the bond-number range and value cant be used by the solicitor, or can it?

We sent the solicitor the bond statement from when we originally set them up years ago and it wasn't questioned.0

I know some people have had issues with NS&I because the online statements for certain financial instruments do not show addresses. Whether that applies to premium bonds or not I don't know.
Someone I know who had this happen was able to write to NS&I to request a statement of holdings and they replied with something, but it took them a couple of weeks.
Of course it doesn't cost anything to liquidate premium bonds and move them into a cash account, then back again. But I'm sure that's not hassle you want!0 -
I have previously phoned NS and I and they have sent out a statement showing name address and the value of the premium bonds. I would not be tempted to liquidate them and put in a cash account if you are looking for proof of funds for a house purchase, though. Your solicitor may very well query the source of any recent large amounts credited to your bank account! I would check with your solicitor exactly what it is that they require. Best of luck.0

You're incredibly fortunate. My solicitor will not accept copies of 'any financial statements' whatsoever. Everything has to come from the banks via post. Its taken me six weeks to obtain one statement from a building society when there should have been eighteen. I've been charged £10 per statement from another building society (twenty two statements) which have still yet to turn up! Now I'm having issues contacting and obtaining the correct documents from NS&i. I started this journey over two months ago in preparation and, I still only have 20% of what's required: meanwhile the seller is about to pull the plug. The costs are mounting up and I'm still in the same position as I was one day after putting in my offer.
I've seriously considered changing solicitors, but all the ones I contact require the same original documents. So all I'd be doing is going backwards. I'm on the verge of throwing the towel in and accepting I wasn't in the right queue when luck was being handed out.
