Meter mix up gas meter
This will sound unbelievable, it still does to me.
I moved in flat 17 years ago. Two meters feed into the two flats, bottom and top flat. The meter boxes have a label stating which meter is which. I have found out that the Exoserve Database shows the same details as the label. Now the unbelievable part the meters are the wrong way round. My current supplier (I’ve had three) continues to tell me the meters are right. I’ve carried out three tests when bottom flat was empty. The only meter moving is the bottom flat while in the top flat the tap is running the heating is on. There are big differences in the readings with my correct meter being much lower than the reads I’ve given for all these years. I’m trying to get my supplier to check the meter, it’s going to be a battle, I have raised a complaint. How far-back can I claim overpayments that I’ve made? Can anyone offer me some help as to the best action to take?

They will also have to arrange to change the registration details for your meter so it is correct from here onwards.
