Could someone confirm that if you have savings over a certain amount you cannot claim the grant support for self employed losses during the pandemic ? Thank you.

If you mean claim for the self employed income support scheme, savings do not affect it. If you were eligible to claim the first grant, that closed on 13 July. The second grant is open for claims until 19 October.

I have successfully claimed both grants and at no point have been asked about savings. As it’s HMRC they obviously know I do have  savings.

You are eligible for the self employed grant with any amount of savings but you must have made less than £50k profit.
Universal credit is £16k of savings limit.
  •  Many thanks for this.  Much appreciated.
