@abba1772 - also a CM. I had quite a lot of online chat with other CMs who were given a hard time. Although I believe all our individual circumstances would have been vastly different.
I insisted to hubby we weren't taking any mortgage holidays, credit card holidays etc because I didn't want it hindering our chances of remortgaging next year.  I've even cleared £8.5k of debt this year and we only have hubbys credit card to clear this year then it's onto savings.  It wasn't even a lot think it was £650 so will be absolutely gutted if it does affect it not sure what the amount is for the second round but probably less than this
NEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12
    POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78
    POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14
    POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.05
  • We took the grant and have a mortgage offer for a house move with an extra £40 odd thousand. They did ask but it went through fine when we explained hubby’s income took a hit but recovered.
  • @abba1772 they asked whether he had been affected by covid and then also whether he had any of those grants.
He answered honestly that he had projects cancelled and therefore it impacted growth and was a loss in earnings but that since things have picked up and that work has been as good if not better than the year before.
We weren't sure what to make of that specific question but they also asked for a hell of a lot of bank statements incl pre covid, during and the most recent month so they can get a sense of earnings.
It didn't affect our offer in the end so I think it's not a strict no, but it is a new thing HSBC had introduced at the time.
We were worried because we read that some banks strictly decline application based on having taken government help but I think bank statements speak for themselves.
