Marbles credit cared delivered to me twice but its not mine

Got pin no for nobody I know. Phoned Marble who said destroy it and card which came next day. The guy who'd applied came to my address to ask if I'd put next card through his letterbox as Marbles would not change address. I agreed but phoned Marbles fraud  who said they couldn't stop it so destroy it again. I did today. I think Marbles are negligent. What do you think? Babmac

  • I don't think they're negligent in not taking instructions from someone who isn't their customer, no.

Dont pass on the card or pin to the guy.
How much difference is between his address and yours ? Just thinking is it a keying error but would it not be picked up at application.
Marbles can change the address if the guy is telling the truth but it sounds like a scam, genuine people wouldn't do this.
    Yes destroy the cards.
Have you tried contacting them on twitter but keep it short ?

Definitely destroy the card - don't hand it to anyone - full stop! It's not in your name right?

I think that you are too trusting of unknown people who knock on your door. Particularly when they are using your address as a mailbox.

Sounds very dodgy to me, but Marbles is correct in that they cannot make changes to an account from someone who is not the account owner. Personally I'd either just destroy the cards or return them as "not known at this address". Definitely wouldn't be handing them out to some stranger. If stuff starts coming in your name then you have more to worry about, but as it stands there's not much you can do.

If this fella comes knocking again, just tell him nothing has arrived. And have a word with your postie, in case he tries to spin him/her a tale in order to get his hands on the card.
When we moved in here we were getting mail for the previous occupiers occasionally, but only when our regular postie was on a different round. I told him that, although I couldn't prove anything, if he was passing it on off his own bat, he was risking his job. We started getting a lot more after that, which went straight back in the post box.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

How did the guy know it was sent to your address,
sounds dodgy, give it 6 months and you will have debt collectors knocking on your door
Because he ordered it to that address.

The correct response is to mark all future Marbles correspondence as "Not at This Address", pop it in a post box and tell the "guy" to go whistle.

Phoning up Marbles will end in a dead-end due to the DPA.
