HRMC Lost Furlough Claim

I am a small franchise business owner who placed a staff member of furlough during Covid 19. I've used MSE since I was 21 and my wife and I regularly watch Marin's show - I wanted to start by personally thanking you to the community in advance for any help whatsoever.

I submitted a furlough claim at the start of June before I went off on paternity leave in July. I've called today to chase the payment of over £7k and they have no recollection on their end. I mentioned that when I started the claim I had to log back in to finish it, and the claim has disappeared.

I've been told that there is nothing I can do other than complain. Please can you let me know what you would suggest?

When you submitted the claim, did you not get a reference?

When we've submitted a claim we've always had a reference number generated the moment we hit the submit button and payments have been received a few days after that. When did you exactly submit the claim? Could it have been after the cut off point?

No, it was before. I did and stupidly I didn't keep a record. It was late one evening and I was spent. Could be a very expensive mistake.
