Ryanair flight change price difference

Hi All.
I had flights to visit my Father in Spain with Ryanair over the Easter period this year which didn't go ahead due to Covid. We rebooked these for August 27th and paid an additional 100+ pound extra due to the august flights being over the weekend which I can understand. However, with the recent quarantine rule change by the uk gov and the FCO travel advice, I don't believe our insurance would cover us and we would like to rebook for October. However, flights then are cheaper and it seems to me that Ryanair would NOT give us the priced difference. Can anyone confirm if this is definitely correct as trying to speak to a human rather than an automated system there is near impossible and social media contact only give you the same scripted answers.
Im worried that if we rebook for October and take the loss of the price difference, that flight wont go ahead either. if we have to rebook once more and the flights are more, then ill end up having to pay the difference and essentially im going to keep giving Ryanair money for nothing!
Thanks

I think that's correct as per their T&C's. If it's a more expensive flight then you pay the difference. If it's a cheaper flight then they don't refund the difference.
Whether it's a fair contract clause is up for debate, but someone would have to take them to court to get a judgement on that.
Did the original flight to Spain at Easter go ahead? If you'd waited for Ryanair to cancel it then you'd have been entitled to a full refund. Likewise your one at the end of August... I did see that Ryanair are cancelling some flights due to low demand because of travel restrictions.

The Easter flight didnt originally go ahead as we were in lockdown by that point, they offered a refund or a voucher, we took the voucher and rebooked for August. As I say, we put mre towards it to cover the increase due to it being the bank holiday but will take a loss on an October booking. im very reluctant to book for October in case we are still in this same position. We would then look to probably go over Christmas if possible but again, I would expect prices to be higher at that point and I dont fancy giving them extra money if I have already lost over £100 from the last change. I suspect my only option is to wait to see if the flights in August do get cancelled in which case they may offer a refund in that instance. It just seems ridiculous to me that a service has been paid for and Im losing money through no fault of my own.0
