Hi There, my question is this, my wife booked me a surprise 50th Birthday Holiday, back in January with Perfect Holidays, she knew that the full amount was due in July, which she was informed that she did have options but with advice from this site she paid the balance hoping for the best.
The holiday was cancelled last week and the company informed her that her options were a credit note valid till 2022, not knowing her full options i think by Law she asked what other destinations were available, may i note she was not offered a full refund. I think i am right in saying looking at the website that as the company have cancelled our holiday we are entitled to a full refund from the company.
I then rang the company and informed them that we would like a full refund which they disputed and said that, my wife had been informed of the options and a refund is all that they could offer, the holiday in question was booked through Perfect Holidays and they booked the accommodation we waned and also the flights with Virgin, it was Virgin that cancelled the flight and also there is a restriction from holidaying in the USA.
The lady informed me that Virgin were offering Vouchers and that's why we would only get a credit note, my argument was that we did not book the flights they did and we were dealing with them not the other companies, I have therefore contacted the credit card company and have requested a refund via them on i believe a Section 75, as the company are not budging, can someone confirm that my facts are correct and I have gone about this in the correct manner
Many Thanks
Paul
