Redundancy after 28 years

Hi all, I have worked for the same employer for 28years, a family business, I have been loyal, gone out of my way to help all family members, even picking up their kids from school. They emailed me 2 months ago after furloughing me to tell me i was being made redundant. I had a quick conversation on Monday with them when they said they would give me an idea of a very fair package. I had an email at half 5 today telling me I am getting £10700 - based on £370 per week, and I am redundant from tomorrow the 19th. they havent taken into consideration that I have had a company van and fuel card for 28 years, I have been hospitalised 3 times through accidents (not my fault) at work, and I worked 5 hrs overtime for 15 years - Is this fair and what can I do?

I am so sorry to hear of your redundancy.
Have you been on the gov calculator to work out if your redundancy pay is correct based on your age and length of service.

What isn't clear here is if 2 months ago you were in consultation then being given your notice? I ask this as you may expecting notice pay on top of redundancy pay? Plus any unspent outstanding holiday pay to come?
Have you had anything followed up in writing with regards to payments?
Without sounding harsh the fact they haven't taken into consideration the company van and fuel card for 28 years, been hospitalised 3 times through accidents at work, and worked 5 hrs overtime for 15 years are a bit irrelevant to being made redundant at this stage and its completely normal to be upset and angry.
Also have you asked for a written reference from your employer /got your old p60's etc ?
Please get on the phone to ACAS tomorrow.

Is £370 your normal weekly pay? Difficult to say if the redundancy amount has been correctly calculated.
Unfortunately everything else is neither here nor there. After 28 years of service I'm sure that they are distressed as well. Bottom line is that you are an employee not a family member. Some decisions aren't easy but neccessary.
Payout looks a bit lower than statutory redundancy.
