Flights with different carriers and one cancelled

I have just had my Inbound flight from Sardinia (October) cancelled with Easy jet. My outbound flight is with Ryanair as there was no EasyJet flights on the day I wanted to travel out.
I have successfully cancelled my weekend accommodation. Does any one know if Ryanair are likely to refund or give me a voucher if I choose to cancel presuming the flight is not cancelled by them?

I know. Ryanair won't give you either, S75  won't work and I doubt your travel insurance would entertain the notion either

Your other option was to keep the accommodation and book a replacement flight to the one cancelled

Yes, there is always a risk when you book different airlines outbound and inbound. The one that is flying is under no obligation to refund if the flight operates
  • About as likely as us waking up tomorrow and the world being back to normal.
They're under no obligation to do anything; the other flight being cancelled isn't their fault. Unfortunately this is one of the pitfalls of booking your own trip rather than a package holiday.
