CCJ by Parking Eye removal advice

Hello, I was looking for advice on CCJ removal and I think this is the best place to start at.
Basically last year I stopped at restaurants parking lot for less than 15 min, and the only information being that have to pay for 8 hour stay, I assumed short stays are free of charge. Surprise surprise - I got a letter from Parking Eye to pay £100 penalty for not paying for parking, which seemed too high and knowing that a lot of people just ignore it firvthe time being and if worst come to worst - you go to court you and defend your case or settle for a fine that both parties agree on without damaging your credit history; but a lot of time they just leave the matter be if you dont respond (silly me). So two more letters followed that and then it was silent for 6 months or so...
And now, last week, I got a letter from Parking Eye issued on July 28th that a CCJ was issued against me and ruled by default that I must pay £197, if done within a month it can be removed from my file. So I ran a quick credit score check and it turns out the judgment was on 24th of March - nearly five months ago, which is ridiculous since I didn't have any information about it or a chance to defend my case or pay in time.
So it comes to getting CCJ removed after 5 month period, I checked with Lender and Court services and they could do it for me for a fixed £499 fee, but with all the fees I'll need to pay on top it's seems quite high and I want to know if there is an easy way to get it done myself. I'm not naive to think I would win against them in court and could get all my fees covered, so probably the best way would be getting a ccj removal by consent. I haven't paid the fine yet, and don't have any phone or email adress to contact parking eye and discuss the matter. If anyone done this in a past please get me on the right track, how to approach then to get a consent sign and what forms and enquires I need to make.

Why did you assume a short stay was free?
Thats an error on your part and you now have to deal with the consequences, no?0 -
You would be wise to go over and post this in the 'parking forum' they will be the best at advising you what action to take.3

So how come you missed two court letters, the claim form and the default judgement notice? That feels unlikely. Had you moved in between?
dont pay someone to do the set aside for you. That's insane.Newbies thread. Has full info on setasides. Read about 12 other ccj threads as well. Obvious searches are useful here3 -

Plenty of restaurants, supermarkets AND fast food outlets share the same car park, the fast food outlet near me DOES allow free short stays to collect food but many have been 'caught out' by parking just a few spaces outside of the poorly signed 'designated' area.0 -

Or they keep sending these reminders for months to come if debt is not settled? It can get worse than that. They can send bailiffs to seize property, including clamping your car, if they feel so inclined.
You must deal with this.
There is good guidance on set asides in the second post in the NEWBIES thread.2 -
No, far more likely as it was before lockdown that the court claim was issued, that your unreliable mail was unreliable.Have you started your reading yet?
you have a short time to get this started. No delays. Get working.2
