Yes I know I managed to post this but I recently tried to quote part of someone’s post and I had a message saying something like ‘one character too short’.
is there a reference guide or something on the forum that I can read to learn how to post and quote properly? Can’t see where emojis are either. I could easily use the old style forum but not this horrible excuse of one which is why I rarely use it now.
Thanks

Think it's 10 characters required to post, therefore use a dot, space etc.
Emoji are taken from the ones on your phone or using the smile face above the box you type in.
Next to no guides, it's all been trial and error since the change over.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -

There is no minimum requirement of characters when quoting other than there must be at least one, but if you type in the blue section, you haven't put any characters in the white section so you are told that you are "one character too short"2 -
^^^ is the correct answer.
The UI of this form is not really intuitive though, so it's easy for new forum members to make mistakes.1 -
Thank you for advice everyone. I am not a new member but took me a few attempts and I managed a quote. Thingamabob was spot on!1
