Smeg induction hob - turn off auto lock

We're currently "working from home" but not our home... the villa has a Smeg induction hob but no instructions and the owner said he'd never used it so couldnt help.

After some googling managed to find an instruction manual for the family of hobs with the same button design (as above) and got the basic functions all working fine however... if you don't use the controls for a minute the functions all lock up and you have to press and hold the padlock for 5 seconds before you can do anything (like turn down a pan thats boiling over).
The manual states you can disable the auto-lock function by going into a sub menu by pressing and holding "the key" of the front left ring for 10 seconds... now it obviously makes no reference to which "the key" is and having tried all of them (power, lightning bolt, plus, padlock, clock, minus) for 10 seconds no sub menu seems to appear. Bit of a long shot but does anyone have this hob and managed to work out how to turn the auto lock off?

Try pressing and hold the plus and minus together (on the front right zone) until you hear a beep/buzz.

Many thanks for the suggestions both however doing this (as per the link) causes the display to go to " °C " and then doesn't seem to do much else. With this model the lock also shows as "BL" rather than just "L" so think it is an older model0
