Non Refundable Room Booked via Booking.com in the Netherlands

Hi, I am after a bit of advice, I booked a room via booking.com which is non-refundable in January this year to go to Arnhem The Netherlands in September. Corona Virus hit and we have kept on an eye on the whole situation. However, the Netherlands has now gone back onto the list for quarantine and we cannot afford to go on the break and self isolate when we get home. I have approached the hotel to cancel the booking and they are stating it is non-refundable. I did pay for the room on my credit card, so what I want to know is, when I cancel which I will, can I claim a refund for the cost of the hotel room via my credit card under Section 75.
Thanks

On what grounds do you plan on claiming under section 75. As far as I can make out the hotel is still operating and willing to provide the service to you, you've just changed your mind about going.
You paid for a non-refundable room and that's what you've got.1 -
The hotel is open, you can physically get there - you just don't want to due to the quarantine.
This is disinclination to travel rather than the hotel cancelling - so you can't claim a refund via Booking.com or Section 75 as the hotel is still available for you to use.1 -

I want to go but the government has put has the quarantine restrictions in. I do have holiday insurance and they have already stated that cancelling the hotel due to the quarantine restrictions will not be covered. If the restrictions are lifted and we go out there and then end up with the quarantine rules being put back on, I cannot risk another two weeks isolation for a 5 day trip. I can move the ferry and I have asked the hotel to move to next year but they are not playing ball. As I paid on the credit card I wondered if I could get my money back under the section 75 due to the fact that the quarantine rules have been put in place. Otherwise I suppose I will have to lose the 500 euro's. I will never book non-refundable ever again I know that for sure.

Ask the Hotel if they would consider offering a voucher - that's the best you can hope for0

No, S 75 is for a service not provided. The hotel is available so the service is provided.
Not wanting to travel because of quarantine restrictions is not covered by your credit card.
Non refundable rates are cheaper for a reason.0 -

Non refundable is always a risk, and while some chains / providers are being flexible there are always some that won't be.
The quarantine rules don't change your eligibility for a refund unfortunately, as the quarantine is nothing to do with the hotel.0 -
