Buying through eBay and PayPal

Hi there,
Any experiences of buying through eBay and using the PayPal Payment After Delivery (PAD) service?
Money held in escrow by Paypal, seller sends me car, I have 7 days to try it out before accepting or rejecting. Paypal then either sends money on to seller or returns to me with car being sent back to seller (at their expense).
All seems too good to be true - is it?
Cheers

It's a scam.
I presume the vehicle you're looking at is cheaper than the rest.
Pay the market rate for something and you might lose a little. Be greedy and fall for one of these scams and you'll lose the lot.1 -
Think you have answered it yourself...All seems too good to be true - is it?If the world is a stage... I want better lighting!0 -
Yes it is. But if PayPal offer the service, am I not protected by them?
He has sent colour copies of his driving licence and ID (self-assessment return) - unless it is someone else!0 -
I've used the 'pay after delivery' on ebay lots of times without any issues although never on a 'big ticket' item such as a car and I don't think I ever would. It doesn't look right and the 'seller' sending you their documents makes it (to me) look even more suspect. Don't take the chance and look elsewhere.0

It's a scam 100% why would any seller risk sending you a car and not having the money ?2

Scam, there is no car, you will only lose your money.
What is the item number, just so I can watch it and see when it gets taken down.1 -
No you aren't.greencar1975 said:Yes it is. But if PayPal offer the service, am I not protected by them?1 -
Thank you everybody. I am normally very careful with potential scams but didn't see this one coming. Glad I posted on here! I now can't find an item number on eBay as he appears to have taken it down. Should I report it?0
