Ryanair flights cancelled can I claim for non refundable accommodation from insurance?

Hi can any of you guys help? I have a family holiday booked to Italy at the end of August, Ryanair have advised of a flight time change (I think possibly it will be cancelled) and have offered us a refund. I have a family policy with Axa provided by coverwise. Our accommodation is booked through booking.com and I accidentally booked the non refundable accommodation, I have requested a refund or change but the owners have refused. Can I claim for accommodation cost through my insurance due to Ryanair changing the flights. Tbh we weren't going anyway as I'm really finding the whole situation very stressful at the moment and am taking antidepressants to cope with anxiety could I alternatively claim a refund under health reasons. Could anyone advise what is the best way to proceed?

I've checked the crystal ball and cant even see from there who your insurance was with let alone it's T&C's
How about you read them and if you're still not clear then ring them and ask
The current situation has brought about different interpretations from insurers so no-one can tell you how your insurer will deal with your circumstances0 -
Best thing to do as always is to speak to your insurance people. Is the accommodation in Italy still open, if so you might not be able to claim as you have not bought a package holiday.1

K3lvc thanks for your helpful answer but it may be time to stop looking at your crystal ball and read my post insurance was with Axa obviously you have no idea how to help with my situation but I was hoping someone else may have been in a similar situation and could offer some advice, this forum is about helping each other after all....0

You still need to check the terms of the policy you have. Axa will have more than one level of cover and you need to check the exclusions of your specific policy.1

I have read the policy wording but as the flight hasn't been cancelled I'm not sure if it will cover us Ryanair have so far only changed it and offered a refund was hoping someone else may have been in a similar situation0
