New UK passport

Hello! I am applying for a new uk passport.   I am just wondering if it is likely to be the red or blue design which I receive?

I don’t work for the U.K. Passport Office but if you are asking for speculative guesses I would say the new dark navy blue one.

Stock of reds at the particular office where yours is to be issued will be used up before starting on the blues. If you know which office, somebody who's just received one from there might give an indication.
    Evolution, not revolution
  • My nearest passport office is Glasgow, although I have applied online
  • Is it a first time application, or a renewal ?
We renewed online a few months ago, each "old" passport went to a different processing address, neither of which was our nearest passport issuing centre.

London person here. I got a blue one about 2 months ago. This was the larger passport with more pages.

They both work in the same way you know, why does it matter?

Passports are printed at a central location. It depends which printer prints the passport. There is still a stock of burgundy passports that have to be depleted before it’s just blue passports that are issued.

It's like the massive threads on this forum about the design on credit & debit cards.
    Does it really matter ??
