How do I haggle/get freebies with Taylor Wimpey? Can I do this?

Me and my partner are putting down a 10% deposit with TW and have also received a 5% from them as I am a key worker and this is a scheme that are running till the end of the year (because of Covid)
with the discount they also include free flooring. Our main worry is the kitchen and paying a lot of money for the integrated appliances ( washing machine, dish washer, fridge/freezer)
Are we in a position to haggle? And how do you do this? Do you start this discussion during the “options meeting” Any help or experience of others doing this would be great.

I may be completely off here as never bought a new build, but I'd say with your 5% discount and free flooring you're already doing pretty well...?0

You can ask them they can only say no.
The developers have a pot of money per plot to give away as extras or incentives. A large proportion of yours will have been used up with the key workers "discount".
No harm in trying though.0 -
It's down to negotiation, and it probably depends how you've 'played your hand' so far.
Realistically, they're unlikely to give you anything free, if they think you'll buy the property anyway (with or without the free stuff).
So maybe you need to give the impression that you're undecided about buying the property, and throwing in some free stuff might be enough to tip the balance.
But having said that, the sales people will have limits on what they're allowed to offer for free (which probably vary by development, depending on levels of interest etc) - and if they've reached that limit, they won't be able to offer anything more.0
