So my redundancy letter said my contract ended 23.10 but I’ve received all my redundancy pay & my P45 dated 31.07 so I guess I’m free to look for a job & claim benefits
I’ve hung on for now as awaiting if qualify for nursery funding for my three year old as I’d already applied for that before redundancy took place
Then it’s to work out if universal credit or job seekers / tax credits is best option I did look through the entitled to calculator last night but just wondered if there is anything else I should look out for?

Can't advise about childcare.New claims for tax credits is no longer possible in your situation.Universal Credit is a means tested benefit, if you live with a partner then you claim as a couple. If you have savings/capital of £16,000 and over then you're excluded from claiming. The benefitas calculator should have told you how much you're entitled to, if anything.New Style JSA isn't means tested but it depends on your NI contributions between April 2017 and April 2019, if you paid the correct amount you can claim this, It's £74.35 per week (over 25) for 6 months. If you claim them both together then the New style JSA will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement.0

Ok thank you yes I’ve paid enough NI been working for last 20 years
I need to look into this as it depends what happens with the childcare funding as which option is going to be best for me
Really don’t want to apply for one option then other be the best0 -
Your 15 hour a week funding will remain available however the 30hrs is usually dependent on your employment status of application if I recall correctly.0
