was due to be in Greece from the 9th august for 1 week all inclusive  holiday
But my partner takes some medication that made her shield for some time ...so i sent message via manage my bookings on 22nd of july as we was waiting for greece to go on lockdown...could not get on live chat or a response to my messages.. so was due to fly back yesterday  and low and behold  boom straight onto chat in a queue after 5 hours I was told  sorry but tough  so lost £2300..all I wanted was for them to ask the hotel to book for next year..i was even buying new flights  its not an unreasonable request is it?
Sorry for grammar and spelling as im not very well educated

Greece hasn't gone into lockdown. Appears you are simply a no show. Flights and hotel still have to be paid for.
  • Yes but tried to change dates
I spoke to hotel and they would  let me go next year but ota had to sort it...I'd gladly book new flights and pay for them im just miffed that they would not even get in contact with the hotel to help me ....

Unfortunately you did not really try hard enough.  You cant say they refused to allow you to reschedule when you did not speak to them until after your holiday had ended.
  • All these companies are swamped by the current crisis as you can see by the amount of time it took you to get in touch. They are not going to spend more time and effort to do something for you that wasn't in the terms and conditions you agreed to. The reality of the situation is this is not in the business model of these online 'travel agents'.

Do you have travel insurance with cover for medical reasons to not travel?
  • So am assuming the holiday went ahead without you?  Well yes as tough as it is you would not be able to claim anything from Love Holidays as they provided what you agreed to.

Only possibility is if your insurance covers you for medical advice?  Check to see. If so you will probably have to get proof from GP or your partner will.

It is upsetting  but as explained all agents were so busy they could only deal in order of travel.  Any special requests could not be looked at.
