Opening gas meter reading nightmare.
I unfortunately didn't submit meter readings with tonik, combined with me being on the high tariff I ended up having to fork out £750 just to leave them, which I did.
I then moved to octopus. I have been with them only a month and boom I am in debt £500! I check my opening gas reading which is 4327 on the 23rd of July..I then went back to my tonik account and find that I submitted a gas reading of 5036 on the 2nd of july! It then has the reading of 4327 with the word 'Industry' next to it... What is going on... How can this reading of 4327 be passed on to octopus from tonik when it is considerably lower than my last submitted meter reading?
Please help me, what can I do to resolve this?

You need to phone or contact Tonik in some way. Same with Octopus. You just need to dispute the opening reading with your new supplier. As it's a big difference they will be able to adjust it. It can take a few weeks to sort but you won't be charged twice for the same energy.0
