Euro Parking Services

Hi all, I have today received a "RE COURT ACTION" letter from Euro Parking Services threatening to instruct their solicitors (Gladstone) to commence proceedings against me if I do not pay £160.00 within 14 days.
I am familiar of where the charge relates to as shown on the letter, however I have had no previous letters before now (I live in a very weird area where it's easy for post people to get mixed up between addresses) and I am assuming COVID has also impacted, but I am unsure.
To cut a long story short I googled it online and ended up finding here, I read the newbies post but it does not mention anything to do with court action (or i missed it)
What can I do about this? All help is much appreciated.
I have always paid any fines I have received straight away, and this would have been no different if I had received the initial notice

    1.  Why do you keep parking so that you receive (not) fines but speculative invoices?
    2.  Have you moved recently and failed to update your V5C?
    3.  Check with the NEWBIE sticky (second post) whether you have a debt collectors letter or a letter before/of claim.  My guess is it is a debt collector letter.  Deal with it in line with the advice in the 4th post of the NEWBIE sticky.
    4.  Submit a SAR to the DPO of the PPC asking for all and any data relating to you and your car with a VRM of AB12CDE and attach a scan of your V5C to prove it is you.  Acronyms are found in the 5th post of the sticky.

14 days is a debt collector letter , the 4th post deals with those

The second post details advice for a 30 day LBC or court action

Email a SAR to EPS to their DPO , as detailed in that second post

Check your V5C has your current address on the form , check , do not assume

    It's not a fine , it's an invoice
  • Hi again,

thanks for the reply. I wasn’t aware its a debt collector letter as its from EPS themselves. I shall reread newbie post :)

I meant fines in general.. I hve been driving for 10+ years and have Easily had less than 10 “fines” due to parking
    2.  Have you moved recently and failed to update your V5C?
Not moved, and I checked the v5c as per suggestion and its totally correct.

    Answered in the quotes above.

In which case, if your V5C is up to date, get the SAR submitted to EPS asap.

OK, that is a reminder letter BUT it is still not a letter before/of claim.  Check out the NEWBIE sticky for what constitutes a proper LOC.
  • Gotcha, thank you much appreciated.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up later this year,

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these companies, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

What happened when you complained to the Church?

Please just read the second post of the NEWBIES thread. How do people miss the section dedicated to court and pre-court stage?
