  • Normally I love rain, not this time as taken up paving stones to level ground and relay.  Only not relayed yet whilst I wait for some sand.  Not even robbie the robot vacuum cleaner is up to the job.  All I seem to be doing is hoovering and mopping (I have dogs).  Paw washing isn't working either.  The must be hiding it in their legs like prisoners of war.

It's been welly weather up here the last few days too @Davesnave I'm sure your field appreciated the TLC 😁
Not awful where we are but very localised. Flash flooding down the road in Barnstaple this afternoon with many properties inundated. I wasn't doing anything to the field itself; I thought I'd just have time to dash 200m with my pole saw, take off one of the two leaders on a purple beech I've been meaning to fix for months and dash back again.....but sadly, my dashing days are over, so I got soaked. Another job off the list tho'!

We had a large false acacia at the end of our garden.  The tree surgeon who cut it down neglected to mention that the roots would send up shoots over the whole garden in an attempt to survive!  They do grow very fast, but if you cut the shoots as soon as you see them, it runs out of energy and gives up - that's when you've killed the main tree.  I'm not sure about when the main tree is still there as it will be able to photosynthesise from that... but unless the tree is particularly liked, I'd be tempted to get rid of it.  Those spikes are evil!
