Lastminute.com Flight to USA

Hi,

I booked a flight only through lastminute.com back in February, so pre-covid, and have rolling travel insurance through my bank (Lloyds/AXA) for September this year. I am basically looking for advice on how to approach my upcoming flight - given I have insurance, is it best to just let the flight date come and go (presuming we still can't travel to the USA by mid September)? Confusingly it is an American Airlines flight operated by BA and both sites say the flight is still happening and on schedule.

Last Minute have already refused any help on the matter, so any feedback would be appreciated.
