    As I said before, it was possibly declared by the sender in Thai Bhat but customs/DHL have taken it in USD or GBP.  You need to ask for a copy of the original customs declaration that was completed by the sender.  If you still have the box it came in, there should be a copy attached to it.

    Alternatively, you may be able to write to HMRC with proof of what it actually cost (invoice/receipt backed up by bank or PayPal statement) and ask them to refund you the over charge.  There used to be a specific form for this but I’ve not done it for a few years so not sure what the current procedure is.
