Free Credit Reports / MSE Credit Club

Hi,
Had been given a free Credit Karma credit report by my old credit card provider - Asda.
Thought it was a good service, but after Asda closed their card 6 weeks ago, we opened another one with a new provider, yet today the credit report still shows an amount still listed on the old Asda card but no mention of the new card which already has passed two month end payment dates, how can they say its an up to date report !
Decided to look at something that might provide more current info so tried the MSE Credit Club, but its a long time since we came across any application wanting so much personal info, income etc and even down to which ISP we were using ! Credit company or not, refused to enter such details and terminated the application.
Any suggestions of any other free Credit Report service worth having ?

MSE is just trying to verify it’s you to prevent someone else looking at your profile and prevent fraud.
You’ll find they all do similar things so if that’s a problem you won’t get far.
Credit Karma is free regardless - it’s possible the creditor hasn’t updated the account for a while and your new one may not report to every CRA
You could try direct with Experian/Equifax/Transunion
But MSE =Experian
Credit Karma = TransUnion
Clearscore - Equifax

You are required to provide such information to verify your identity.dino2020 said:Hi,Had been given a free Credit Karma credit report by my old credit card provider - Asda.Thought it was a good service, but after Asda closed their card 6 weeks ago, we opened another one with a new provider, yet today the credit report still shows an amount still listed on the old Asda card but no mention of the new card which already has passed two month end payment dates, how can they say its an up to date report !Decided to look at something that might provide more current info so tried the MSE Credit Club, but its a long time since we came across any application wanting so much personal info, income etc and even down to which ISP we were using ! If you choose to not provide your identity then you choose to not have access to your credit report.0 -
Experian and Equifax also provide free access to your credit report directly due to GDPR so no need to go through third parties anymore.adamp87 said:MSE is just trying to verify it’s you to prevent someone else looking at your profile and prevent fraud.

True though they will still ask the questions the OP doesn’t want to answer, to verify their identity.Takmon said:

Clearscore - EquifaxTime is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
They will only ask what is needed to verify their identity and not ask things like Income or who your ISP is for a statutory request so maybe they will be happier to do this considering they already have this data.dr_adidas01 said:
