You need to find a specialist welfare rights advisers. There are some advisers who think there is an argument that can be made to get back into tax credits, but it is quite a complicated argument. But it is risky, as it would mean no UC support in the meantime and if the appeal loses, you won't be able to get UC to cover the gap (which could be 18 months)
I have nothing to loose as my UC will end now after six months anyway
Why will your UC end after 6 months?
    Owning a buy to let.
Are you sure you are getting UC? Sounds like you might be getting contributory ESA or JSA rather than UC if it ends after 6 months. If you get UC there is entitlement period - if you have a buy to let and therefore capital over 16k you won't qualify for UC for any period.
Perhaps start by contacting a local CAB and ask if they have a specialist welfare rights adviser or your local authority.

It could well have been disregarded for 6 months.
Fair point....what scenario would lead to a buy to let being disregarded?

During the pandemic because the property market was essentially shutdown there was an argument that property had no capital value because it could not be marketed and sold. That argument no longer holds but a disregard would still apply if the property was put up for sale.

Yes buy to let property was disregarded for six months because of the pandemic. Being self employed I am not entitled to JSA and no UC now after six months and yes the government was very clever in only promoting UC for self employed people during the pandemic. No one ever said don’t worry if you already receive tax credit just stay on it and if you apply for UC your tax credit will stop and you can’t go back.  No advice available as the tax credit phone line just had an answering machine.

Secretary of State said she would look at what could be done to help people who have lost Tax Credits by applying for UC and then found they had no entitlement. However since then the only word has been along the lines of ‘it’s too difficult’.
