Problem with V62

I have purchase a classic scooter 1982 back in March 2020, the owner sold it to the motorbike dealer has a donor spare parts for over 6 years but no one was buying the parts, I was there looking for a new scooter and I saw the classic scooter at back of the workshop it is in a great condition but the clutch was damaged, which it doesn't have V5 paper but it have a number plate. I went purchase it for £300 and brought to home, I have been fixed replaced the whole gearbox two months ago is ready to be back on the road. I have been send the V62 paper to DVLA on 3rd of June 2020, on 21st of June the DVLA have took the £25 cheque out of my account. I was pleased that I knew my name will be on the V5. But it has been nearly two months no sign of the V5 paper, the DVLA have closed chatline, email no answer, contact no ring through the office. Is there other way of check to confirm if my name has been register on V5? ask Police??

Since the DVLA aren't dealing with paper forms at the moment you might have a while to wait.  Spend the intervening time fixing your scooter.

Why would you contact the police?

https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ - when was the last V5C issued?

When you do a keeper change with a V62, DVLA contact the previous registered keeper to ask them if they agree to the change. They have (IIRC) 28 days to reply. And that's before the effects of Covid on DVLA's reply times. At the start of June, they were still saying "DO NOT POST US ANYTHING, we aren't opening it", because they were still under Welsh lockdown.

It is important that rather than the paperwork referred to here a receipt is the real proof of ownnership.

You can have a vheicle registered in your name but belongs to someone else.

    Thanks
