IVA/BDM
Options
Hi,I wonder if anyone can give me some advice, myself and my partner had an aip with Halifax, so we have a buyer for our property and have had an offer accepted on another, we have a 20% deposit, 2 weeks ago our broker informed us that Halifax whom we already have an existing mortgage with have declined is due to my partners IVA which started in 2013 paid early 2016 although iam aware it’s still on his credit report for 6 years, so he is one year out this October. My broker appealed and lost so now we’ve had an email that his BDM has escalated the case and it’s being referred back to the underwriter for review. Do you think we have a good chance? Or is it a lost cause? It’s so stressful 😢

I can't comment on the mortgage issue. However...
An IVA that started in 2013 should have dropped off the credit file in 2019. It should also be no longer appearing on the insolvency register.
Have you checked both?

Apparently it’s got to 6 yrs after it’s finished?0

Same page as fatbelly here, if it started in 2013, it should have gone in 2019, (the six years start from the begining, not the end) so something is incorrect here.

I don’t think it’s on the file anymore? Apparently a senior underwriter declined because of the IVA it’s so frustrating because of how long ago it was0
