Deferred July Tax

I’ve been unable to work since April. I’ve just logged into my self assessment account which says my July payment is overdue. When I checked in April I’m sure it said I didn’t have to do anything to defer July payment. Was I supposed to declare it?

According to this page you don’t have to tell them but due date should show as January 2021. Not sure why mine doesn’t.

Have you done your self assessments for year ending 2020?  I received the tax statement after doing mine and, in a confusing way, said the tax was not due until January.

For 19/20, wouldn’t the tax be due Jan 2021 as normal?

Yes, but the payment on account for July was also deferred on the statement.

I haven’t been submitted 19/20 yet. I’ll do that soon. Thanks
