Fridge freezer on carpet

Hi. I may have to put a larege American fridge freezer in a carpeted room for a few months.   Im pretty sure it has to be put on something first, plywood or something?    Im pretty dubious about it going there to be honest. Any advice?

The biggest issue would be water on defrosting so you should put a waterproof layer under the plywood such as a tarpauling with the edges coming up over the plywood. It would not be aesthetically pleasing but should protect the carpet.
