Something i haven't seen mention on here and i wasn't aware of it before
i've just noticed that when i purchase products over a total value of £100 on the Amazon website it brings up an interest free installment plan option mine says 12 month they don't earn amazon points though. This is only available with Newdays Amazon Credit card as far as i'm aware other CC may offer different options but this is no way related to Amazon.

I didn't use that option as i don't it but for bigger purchases its something else to consider.

    Hi.
I also noticed that offer recently. Just be aware that you need to have available credit on the card for the full cost of the purchase.

yes you must have full amount available in credit to use it..
The amount is divided into 12 installments if you don't make the installment the plan is cancelled and then the amount is transfered to your normal card balance where interest is then charged.

its the first time i've seen any of my credit cards do this i understand natwest do it too but for large purchases in general as probably others do also i think its a great additional benefit as long as its used wisely.

I don't have a barcalycard can this one be used on anything with any retailer ?
the newday one i believe can only be used with amazon.co.uk site i assume its to get you to use their card for bigger purchases and amazon gives them an increased amount in transaction costs/fees.

I've had a barclaycard for about two years and have never been given the option, on the website it say's purchases need to £495 or greater. Also there is a fee included.

    How is it reported though?
Is it reported as a separate loan/agreement?
Or is it reported as the Credit Card balance?

with the installment plan being taken from your available credit i assume its just an offer that credit cards can do ie 12 month balance transfer/0% purchases which is all based on your credit card not a seperate loan/agreement.
I haven't used the installment plan option so can't guarantee the above though.

Sorry yes. Didn’t realise the Barclaycard minimum purchase value was that high.

according to the newday/amazon blurb minimum value is £100 with no additional costs the 12 month interest rate offer will also be dependent on your score so may vary  and only some products are covered it says but i haven't found  one so far thats not
max of 5 items in the order.
I think its a pretty decent offer overall you don't get amazon points for it though.
