It was clear by the wording in the OP post what he meant, others saw that too and told you.Marvel1 said:

Fortunately, OP has cleared up the gender issue but I can see why all this use of they and their creates confusion because they're plural pronouns. There was a similar thread a few weeks back where using 'they' in the case of someone wanting advice on how to share bills suggested that more than two people were involved. The gender free pronoun is 'it' but not sure that's very acceptable either. 🤔😉Comms69 said:

I was avoiding using he or him purely to keep the thread simple, but to think in future some groups want us to use they and them etc instead of him/her etc, I don't think it will take on. Look how confusing my "simple" thread was.maman said:

To update regarding the actual issue, I have spoken to him about the money and he says he will give it me back, so we will see what he does!1 -
Fingers crossed it works out, by any chance did he or you confirm the conversation in text/ WhatsApp/ email etcLondon7766551 said:

If you can't see it in the OP's post having read it again then I'm sorry, I can't make you see what is clear to me.Marvel1 said:

OP, I hope it all works out but sadly, many want to upset their ex and witholding items, money is an easy way for them. However, you have evidence and a small claims court will do the trick if required and the ex will have a lot more to pay plus the risk of baliffs at the door. I just hope he does the right thing as he has indicated for his sake before he has to pay a lot more back.
Cheers for the update OP

There is no mention of gender in the first post and most people agree with that so if you think there is then you will need to quote it and highlight it otherwise just admit you were wrong because you do seem unable to do this from all the posts on here i have read of yours....sweetsand said:
