freeview retune

a few days ago the north west was asked to retune their freeview, which I did. I now only have around 10 channels. I have tried calling them but am put on hold for ages as I guess the whole of the North West is ringing them! I have unplugged everything overnight to no avail. I do not want to do a factory reset as this will delete all of my recordings and may not work anyway. Has anyone else got this problem or managed to solve it?

Looking at local forums/websites this appears to be a very common problem with this latest retune.
The only thing that springs to mind for me is that they have moved the channels into aerial groups not covered by your aerial.

Ah, so now I'm into the cost of a new aerial! happy days
Thanks for the reply0 -
Maybe, it's just one thing that I can think of that can cause the problem.
Just checked Winter Hill. It looks like a wide band aerial instead of a group C, D/ E aerial is needed1 -
OP. Try doing a retune with the aerial disconnected. Sometimes this can clear out erroneous channel listings. Then plug it back in again and do another retune. I have known this work before, but no guarantees.1

Thanks for taking the time0
