Will I have a credit check? Administrator role in a prison

I’m wondering if anyone can help me, I’m happy that I have just had the news I got the administrator job I had an interview for in a prison.
I’m aware that Vetting Background checks and a DBS is required for the security clearances, I don’t have any criminal record and had continuous employment, however I’m worried that I need to ‘pass’ a credit check? I am currently half way through an IVA back from when me and my ex partner split as I couldn’t cope with the finances I was left to manage alone. I’m on track and never missed a payment.
Will they see this as me failing the Vetting process?
Thank you in advance 😊

Being an undischarged bankrupt would rule you out for working in any capacity in HMPS, but unless you are working in an area handling finance, it shouldn't be an issue.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0

Thank you for your comment I really appreciate it, so If a credit check is carried out, a current running IVA shouldn’t be an issue to pass the vetting? My anxiety is through the roof 😔.Marcon said:Being an undischarged bankrupt would rule you out for working in any capacity in HMPS, but unless you are working in an area handling finance, it shouldn't be an issue.0 -
If they've confirmed that you need to pass a credit check - might be worth explaining to the company doing the checks what you've explained here. Some places of work (not usually financial institutions or anything to do with finances, such as insurance) will accept an explanation if you are open an honest about the situation - either way, it will help your anxiety if you just contact them and find out where you stand.1

They haven’t stated that a credit check is going to be part of the process, they have just said ‘-Security Vetting/background checks and DBS. Waiting anxiously for the documents from HR.I will be open and honest, I’m going to be heartbroken If it does have a impact as I’ve just been made redundant and this was a fresh start for me after some very rough years 😔.0 -
Usually if they were going to do a Credit Check, they would mention it separately - in addition to the Background Check and DBS. Congratulations and Good Luck! - I'm sure it'll be fine

This is helpful thank you I have everything crossed. If they did do a credit check I’m just curious as to what would be a failure and if an IVA would be classed as a fail 😫. XBrackenfield said:I dont recall getting a credit check for my admin role in a prison just disclosure check. Good luck x0 -
If you get any forms relating to money, I'd call and ask HR what you need to put based on your circumstances. Better to be upfront in this situation xx1

I will be 100% up front with them, I have so much anxiety over this meaning I won’t be given a start date because I haven’t passed the vetting. I know bankruptcy is a no no and CCJ’s, I have none of those but I’m well aware an IVA is classed as a serious financial situation. 😔. I was so happy when I found out I got the job and now I’ve never been so worried 🥺 xxBrackenfield said:If you get any forms relating to money, I'd call and ask HR what you need to put based on your circumstances.
