We had a DIP with Natwest but were declined at the application stage due to a 10 year old cc default with RBS who are now part of Natwest
Does anyone know which other lenders are accepting contracted overtime and bonuses? We are key workers not affected by the current situation but a lot of our income comes from overtime

            I’m guessing you didn’t use a broker or you’d be asking them0

In fact I’m sure HSBC are also taking OT now. They only did this for NHS up until a couple of weeks ago, but I think they take 50% OT now0

Historic defaults are taken into account when considering new applications for credit within the same banking group.jazzyja said:

It was a default with the same lender that they were applying for a mortgage with. It's not surprising really, banks do keep records of "bad customers" for far longer than these things show on your credit file. It doesn't mean they or you can't get a mortgage with another lender, they (and you) just shouldn't be applying to lenders (or lenders within the same group) that they've "screwed over" in the past.jazzyja said:

Ahh i see. I genuinely didn't know records could be kept so far back! (Naive!). Im hoping to apply next year when my default from a catalogue drops off. So when I saw this I panicked!SpreadableToast said:

Lenders can keep individual records for eternity. It is your "public" credit record with the credit reference agencies where they have to be removed after 6 years. If you apply for a loan with a lender you defaulted with in the past they're perfectly entitled to use any information they have regardless of it's age to make a decision. A different lender wouldn't see that default if it was over 6 years old so you'd be fine with them.jazzyja said:Ahh i see. I genuinely didn't know records could be kept so far back! (Naive!).
