Sports Direct website refund policy
BUT.... because I partially paid with a credit note they are only offering a credit note refund. They say their policy is to refund by credit note of item was part paid for by credit note.
Does anyone know the law around website refunds? Obviously you can’t try them on! There was no visible information about the refund policy or I would have waited for an exchange.
Their policy seems unfair... does it break any legal guidance?

Pretty normal policy and lawful AFAIK - otherwise what would be the point of giving you a credit note in the first place, if you could just "cash it in" by buying and returning something else?

If they have refunded you with a £42 credit note then what they have done isn't correct.
As the trainers were £42 and you paid £34.99 on a credit note and the remainder by Apple pay then what they should be doing is to refund in the same way that you paid with another £34.99 credit note and £7.01 back to Apple Pay.
Their T&C's don't mention credit notes but what they state for returns for purchases paid for with a gift card is:If any product purchased with a Gift Card is subsequently exchanged for a product of a lower price, any money owing will only be issued as a Gift Card. If your purchase was partially paid for on Gift Card and a refund is payable to you, your Gift Card will be refunded up to the card's original value, and any outstanding balance owed after this will be refunded via the other payment method originally used for your purchase. If you no longer have the Gift Card used to purchase the returned item(s), Sports Direct will issue you with a new Gift Card to the value payable to you up to the amount of the card's original value.

So I made a purchase online from Sports direct at £19.99 for the item and then standard delivery charge at £4.99 total £24.98
I returned all goods within 30 days, however, I only received a refund for the trainers and not the cost of the standard delivery charge.I have emailed them several times stating that the item was no longer needed and I would like a full refund as stated in their policy. They argue that I should have returned my items within 14days for a full refund.Do I stand a chance, in getting delivery fees refunded ?0 -
You need to notify them of your intention to cancel within 14 days. You then have 14 days from the date you cancel to get the goods back to them. If you didnt do this then you're relying on the company's terms and conditions.GrandJury said:So I made a purchase online from Sports direct at £19.99 for the item and then standard delivery charge at £4.99 total £24.98
