Yes that’s what I always do. I shop around to compare prices but always book direct through the airline. Unfortunately he booked the flight secretly, he’d planned to arrive home as a surprise bless him! He’ll know for next time.Just hope he gets home, there’s enough time for everything to change yet again!0

Luckily, there are lots of alternatives to email 🙂Voyager2002 said:The problem with giving him your card details is that email is not secure: someone could intercept the details and misuse them immediately.Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur1 -
S75 protection with credit cards is only applicable when the beneficiary of a purchase is the actual cardholder.trying__2b_good said:Mickey666 said:I wanted him to have the extra protection that a credit card would giveEvolution, not revolution0 -

It would be a good idea to make him an additional cardholder - help avoid potential dramas in future.

Did he book direct this time. It usually helps if you have problems, as he has found outtrying__2b_good said:
Thanks, in the end we darent risk it. Booked on his debit card!silvercar said:Legally you can’t give him your card details, but you can book a flight for him. I know with BA the online booking asks if the cardholder will be travelling, so they know not to ask to see the card at check in advance.2 -
Yes absolutely. Direct through Qatar on their website, both flights same airline. I always book direct with the airline, he will from now on 😬.photome said:

Absolutely, he knows now. He won’t do it again!Caz3121 said:
There are some really terrible third parties around. He should look to book direct with the airline. If tempted by a third party, do some research - air travel forum on tripadvisor is a good start, (trustpilot has a lot of questionable reviews) Read the terms and conditions carefully, in particular re fees.It was booked through a third party who seemed legit but now aren’t being very helpful. He managed to speak to someone on the phone and they charged him$55 for the privilege!0 -
Thanks for all the responses and advice. Much appreciated0
